Affiliate Disclosure
Honesty matters. This page explains how QuizAtlas makes money from product recommendations and why that doesn't change what we recommend.
1. What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special URL that contains a unique tracking code. When you click it and make a purchase, the merchant pays us a small commission for referring you. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you went directly to the merchant.
2. Which programs we participate in
QuizAtlas is a participant in the following affiliate programs (we'll update this list as it changes):
- Amazon Associates Program — As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This is a standard disclosure required by Amazon.
- Additional affiliate programs — We may join additional affiliate programs over time (such as Bookshop.org, Audible, Skillshare, Impact, ShareASale, or similar). This list will be updated as new partnerships are added.
3. How we choose what to recommend
We recommend products based on three criteria, in this order:
- We use it or have used it — or we have a trusted reason to believe it's quality.
- It fits our audience — products related to learning, curiosity, books, games, and travel.
- The economics make sense — we won't promote something we wouldn't recommend to a friend just because the commission is high.
If a product is sponsored or paid placement (rather than organic affiliate), we will say so clearly and directly on that piece of content.
4. What this doesn't mean
Earning a commission does not mean:
- The merchant has approved or reviewed our content.
- We are employees, agents, or representatives of the merchant.
- The merchant endorses QuizAtlas.
Our opinions are our own. If we don't like something, we won't recommend it, period.
5. Your cost
You pay nothing extra when you use our affiliate links. The merchant pays us out of their own marketing budget, the same way they would pay any other advertising channel.
6. How to support us
If you want to support QuizAtlas, the easiest way is to use our links when you're already planning to buy something on Amazon or one of our other partner sites. You can also share the atlas, subscribe to the newsletter, or just send a kind email — those help too.
7. Compliance
This disclosure exists to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising," and with similar regulations in other jurisdictions including the UK ASA, EU consumer protection rules, and Canadian Competition Bureau guidance.
8. Questions
If you ever have questions about whether a specific link is an affiliate link or whether content is sponsored, just ask: [email protected]. We'll always tell you straight.
